Where We Sit in the Crossroads
Our front door is at 527 Southwest Blvd, on the western edge of the Crossroads Arts District. If you know the neighborhood, you know Southwest Blvd is the western boundary that runs into I-35. The Crossroads sits south of the Downtown Loop, north of Crown Center, east of I-35, and west of Troost. We’re right on that western seam.
We’re not tucked behind anything. The shop opens directly onto the boulevard. If you’ve walked the Crossroads on a First Friday or come down to a show at the Kauffman Center, you’ve probably passed our block.
Finding Us on a First Friday
The First Friday Art Alleys run between Baltimore and Wyandotte from 18th Street south to Southwest Blvd. That means the alleys end at our street. The Crossroads Truck, which acts as the info point for the event, parks at the corner of Baltimore and Southwest Blvd. That’s our intersection.
Foot traffic on a First Friday is real. Thousands of people walk those blocks between 5pm and 10pm on the first Friday of every month. Galleries open their doors, art vendors set up in the alleys, and food trucks fill the lot between 19th and 20th on Grand. Most people park near Union Station or take the KC Streetcar to the Crossroads stop at 19th and Main, then walk west.
If you’re trying to find us in the middle of all that, the shortcut is to walk to where the Art Alleys end. Cross Southwest Blvd. We’re at 527.
Parking on First Friday is the part that frustrates people. On-street spots fill up by 5:30 or 6pm. There are paid lots in the area that charge around $5 on event nights. The KC Streetcar runs free with extended weekend hours, and most regulars just take it.
How We're Different From a Licensed Dispensary
There’s another retailer on Southwest Blvd. From The Earth Westside sits at 2918 Southwest Blvd, about 13 blocks west of us on the same boulevard. They’re a licensed Missouri marijuana dispensary, regulated under the state’s marijuana framework.
Big Chiefs Kush is a hemp-derived cannabis shop. Different regulatory category, different products, different rules. We sell hemp-derived flower, pre-rolls, vapes, concentrates, and edibles to customers 21 and over.
This distinction matters because customers searching “dispensary Southwest Blvd” sometimes don’t know we’re not the same business. If you want licensed Missouri marijuana product, From The Earth is your stop and we won’t pretend otherwise. After Hours: Open Late on Southwest Blvd
Most retail on Southwest Blvd closes by 10 or 11pm. From The Earth Westside is open until 10pm Monday through Thursday and 11pm Friday and Saturday. Our Crossroads location is open until 1am Monday through Thursday, 3am Friday and Saturday, and 1am on Sunday. First Friday gallery hours wrap around 9 or 10pm, which still gives our shop several hours of availability for the after-event crowd. If you’re heading home from a show at the Kauffman Center or finishing up dinner at one of the Crossroads restaurants, we’re open later than almost anything else on this street. Walk-ins only. Valid 21+ ID required for entry.

Visiting in Person
527 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108. The shop sits on the corridor that runs out toward I-35. If you’re driving in from Downtown, take the Downtown Loop south to I-35 and exit toward Southwest Blvd. If you’re on the KC Streetcar, get off at the Crossroads stop at 19th and Main, walk west on 19th, then turn north on Southwest Blvd. The walk takes about 10 minutes.
The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts is a few blocks northeast of us. Union Station is a short walk south. Crown Center sits beyond Union Station. We’re inside the same district as all of it.

Can I walk from the Crossroads Streetcar stop?
Yes. The Crossroads Streetcar stop is at 19th and Main. Walk west on 19th and turn north on Southwest Blvd to reach 527 Southwest Blvd. The walk takes roughly 10 minutes. The 16th and Main stop near the Kauffman Center is also within walking distance.
