Big Chiefs Kush is a Kansas City cannabis retailer with two locations: one in the Crossroads Arts District and one in Waldo. We focus on premium and exotic flower, pre-rolls, vapes, and cartridges. The owners have over 15 years of cannabis industry experience and built the business around premium-only inventory and a customer-first experience.

We have two locations in Kansas City, MO. The Crossroads shop is at 527 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108. The Waldo shop is at 218 W. 74th St, Kansas City, MO 64114. Both are walk-in only, no appointment needed.
How long have you been in business?
We operate two locations in Kansas City. The owners bring more than 15 years of combined experience in the cannabis industry, including cultivation, sourcing, and retail operations.
What makes you different from other cannabis stores in Kansas City?

Are you a dispensary or a hemp store?
We sell hemp-derived cannabinoid products legal under federal law. We are a retail cannabis store rather than a state-licensed marijuana dispensary. Our staff can walk you through what that means and which products fit your needs at either location.
Do I need a medical card to shop?
No medical card is required to shop with us. You’ll need a valid government-issued photo ID showing you are 21 or older. That’s the only requirement to walk in and purchase.
What is your approach to customer service?
We treat every customer the same. First-time buyers get the same patience and product education as longtime customers. Nobody is rushed. Our team is trained to be patient with anyone who needs a quieter, slower experience, including customers and families on the autism spectrum.
Products & Selection
What products do you sell?
We carry three product categories at both locations: premium cannabis flower, pre-rolls, and vapes and cartridges. Flower is sold in three tiers (Rare, Exotic, and Ultra). We do not carry edibles, concentrates, drinks, or accessories.
What are the flower tiers (Rare, Exotic, and Ultra)?
Our three flower tiers reflect different levels of rarity and curation. Rare is our entry-tier premium with high quality at an accessible price. Exotic is the mid-tier with more limited strains and stronger profiles. Ultra is the top tier, the rarest and most carefully selected flower we carry, available in limited quantities.
Can I see and smell the flower before I buy it?
Yes. Every flower jar opens at the counter. You can look at the bud, smell the terpenes, and ask questions before you decide. This is one of the things that sets us apart from most retail cannabis shops.
Why don't you list pricing or full product selections online?
Our inventory rotates roughly every two weeks. Posting a full menu online would mean half of it is out of date by the time you read it. We’d rather you walk in, see what’s actually on the shelf today, and pick something based on real options.
How often do you get new strains?
New strains arrive about every two weeks. Older stock cycles out as new product comes in, so the menu refreshes constantly. Customers who shop with us regularly almost always find something new on each visit.
Do your products come with a warranty?
Yes. Our products are warranty-backed, which is unusual in cannabis retail. If something isn’t right with what you bought, bring it back and we’ll make it right. Ask the team at the counter for the specific terms when you purchase.
Do you sell edibles?
No. We do not carry edibles. Our focus is on premium flower, pre-rolls, vapes, and cartridges. We made the decision early on to keep the product mix narrow so we could keep the standard high.
What's your strongest or best strain?
“Best” depends on what you’re looking for: effect, flavor, time of day, tolerance. Our team will ask a few questions and recommend something from current inventory. If you’re after the strongest tier we carry, ask about Ultra.
Pricing & Promotions
How much do products cost?
Prices range from $2 for promotional pre-rolls up to $50 or more for top-tier Ultra flower per gram. Pricing varies by product, tier, and current inventory. Because the menu rotates, we don’t publish a static price list. The team at either location will walk you through current pricing.
Do you have any current deals or promotions?
Yes. We run rotating in-store deals at both locations, including $2 pre-rolls. Specific promotions change, so the best way to see what’s running is to walk in or call ahead. Deals are not posted publicly online for the same reason our menu isn’t. They change too often.
Do you offer discounts for first-time customers?
Ask at the counter when you visit. We try to take care of first-time customers, but specific offers depend on what’s running that week. Our team will let you know what applies to your purchase.
Do you offer financing or payment plans?
No. We don’t offer financing. We accept cash, debit, credit cards, and Apple Pay at both locations. All purchases are paid in full at the counter.
Visiting Our Stores
Do I need an appointment to visit?
No. Both locations are walk-in only. You can come in any time during business hours. There’s no appointment system and no waitlist. Just walk in, get checked at the door, and shop.
What ID do I need to bring?
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID card, passport, or military ID) that shows you are 21 or older. We check ID at the door for every visit, every time, no exceptions.
How old do I need to be to shop?
You must be 21 or older to enter or purchase at either location. This is non-negotiable and applies to everyone in your party.
Is parking available at both locations?
Both locations have street parking nearby. Crossroads is on Southwest Boulevard with on-street parking and several public lots within walking distance. Waldo has on-street parking on 74th and surrounding side streets. Plan a few extra minutes during peak hours, especially on weekends.
Can I bring a friend who's under 21?
No. Both locations are 21-and-up. Anyone who enters the shop must show ID at the door. If a friend or family member is under 21, they’ll need to wait outside.
Is the shop accessible?

Payment & Policies
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, debit cards, credit cards, and Apple Pay at both Big Chiefs Kush locations. There is no minimum purchase requirement. ATMs are available nearby if you prefer to pay in cash.
Do you accept returns?
Our products are warranty-backed. If something isn’t right with what you bought, bring it back to the location where you purchased it and we’ll make it right. Specific terms depend on the product. Ask at the counter for details when you buy.
Do you sell online or deliver?
No. Big Chiefs Kush is in-store only. We don’t sell online and we don’t offer delivery. Our model is built around customers seeing and smelling the product before they buy, which only works in person.
Do I need to use cash?
No, but cash works. We accept debit, credit, and Apple Pay in addition to cash at both shops. Many of our customers prefer cash for cannabis purchases, but it’s not required.

Are you open on holidays?
Yes. Both Big Chiefs Kush locations typically stay open on holidays during regular business hours. If a holiday falls on a day we’d normally be open, plan to visit as usual. For the most current information, call the shop directly before you head over.
Which location is closer to downtown Kansas City?
The Crossroads location at 527 Southwest Blvd is the closer of the two to downtown Kansas City. It sits in the Crossroads Arts District, walking distance from downtown, the Power & Light District, and River Market. Waldo serves the south side of the city.
